Roots Nursery

Oakhill Church School Nursery opened it’s doors in September 2019. We are located on the same site as Oakhill Primary School and share resources and staff. Being part of the school enables us to develop our children with the skills and understanding they need for Reception and ensure our nursery leavers have the skills ready for school. We have two dedicated rooms and our own toilets located within a separate building from the main school. Outside we have a large covered space where children are free to flow, even when the weather is poor. Our secure site means children can move between the nursery room and outside space without any concerns and engage in meaningful activities with staff and other children.

Our main room includes a snack café, role play area, interactive whiteboard, reading and art zones and construction area. Outside we have growing beds for vegetables and flowers, a small fish pond, large sandpit, trikes and bikes, mud kitchen and open space to create themed activity zones. In addition to our area we have access to the school site most mornings when the children are in class. During this time we use the sensory garden, allotments and field to explore and learn.

Our Nursery is lead by Nancy who is supported by a team of four other staff. Mrs Clements is Head Teacher across the school and Nursery. Please visit our staff pages to find out a little more about each of our nursery staff.

Please contact the main office, 01749 840426, to arrange a visit, book a place or speak to one of the nursery staff about our offer.
